Before you set off, send Houcine Bahamou a message with your arrival time: he will confirm the way. You can also call the guesthouse on +212 6 42 61 68 53 or +212 6 70 23 94 54.
From Ouarzazate, on the N10
- In Ouarzazate, take the N10 national road towards Taznakht, Taliouine and Taroudant.
- 17 km after the village of Tinfat, turn off towards the Assaïs souk.
- Then turn left: the guesthouse is 4 km from the main road, in the first village, Tagmoute.
From Taliouine
Taliouine is west of the guesthouse, on the same N10 road. Take the N10 east, towards Taznakht and Ouarzazate, then turn off towards the Assaïs souk and Tagmoute. Houcine will gladly give you the exact landmark for the turn-off.
From Taroudant and Agadir
From Agadir, head to Taroudant, then follow the N10 east, via Aoulouz, as far as Taliouine. The Frommer's guide puts Taliouine about 115 km from Taroudant. Then drive through Taliouine and carry on along the N10 towards Taznakht, as described above.
From Marrakech
There are two options:
- Via Ouarzazate: the N9 crosses the High Atlas over the Tizi n'Tichka pass, then comes down to Ouarzazate. From there, follow the directions from Ouarzazate. In winter, snow can close the pass for a while: check before you leave.
- Via Agadir and Taroudant, then the N10 east to Taliouine and Tagmoute.
Ask Houcine which route he recommends, depending on the season and where you are starting from.
By bus or grand taxi
Taliouine is served by buses and grands taxis (shared taxis) from Ouarzazate and from Taroudant. You then still need to get to Tagmoute, 4 km from the main road.
A transfer to the guesthouse?
Ask Houcine whether he can arrange your transfer from Taliouine, or from Ouarzazate, Agadir or Marrakech, and at what price. Ask him on WhatsApp.
The last few kilometres, night, 4x4: our tips
- The last few kilometres: ask Houcine about the state of the road at the time of your visit, especially in a low car or a camper van, and after heavy rain.
- At night: the first time, it is best to arrive before dark. Off the main road, landmarks are hard to see at night.
- Driving time: allow plenty of time. On these mountain roads, map apps are often too optimistic.
- Fuel: fill up before you leave the main road.
- By motorbike or 4x4: see our page on motorbike and 4x4 stopovers.

Once you are here, leave the car: several walks start on foot from the village. See hiking in the Siroua, Tagmoute village and, in autumn, the saffron harvest.
