Motorbike and 4x4 stopover at the foot of the Siroua

Between Ouarzazate and Taroudant, the N10 road crosses saffron country. In Tagmoute, 4 km from the main road, the guesthouse is waiting for you for the night: dinner, a room, breakfast, and the Anti-Atlas tracks to set off on the next day.

A stopover between Ouarzazate and Taroudant

Taliouine lies roughly halfway between Ouarzazate and Taroudant, on the N10. The guesthouse is a little before it, coming from Ouarzazate: 17 km after the village of Tinfat, you turn off towards the Assaïs souk, and the guesthouse is 4 km from the main road, in the first village. Full directions, the GPS coordinates and our tips are on the Getting here page.

In the evening, you have dinner at the guesthouse: rooms are offered on a half-board basis, dinner and breakfast are included in the price of the room, from €26 per night. After a day on the road, the pool helps you unwind. See the rooms and rates.

The tracks of the Siroua and the Anti-Atlas

Around Tagmoute, dirt tracks link the villages of the massif. A few ideas for a day out:

  • The Tislit gorges: a track runs from Assaïs to the village of Tislit, at the entrance to the gorges. You then finish on foot in the bed of the wadi.
  • The Tizgui granaries, perched in the cliff, which you can combine with Tislit on the same day.
  • Towards Tafraoute: the R106 regional road links the Taliouine area with Tafraoute, in the heart of the Anti-Atlas.

Practical questions to ask before you arrive

To make sure your stopover goes smoothly, write to Houcine before you arrive, with the number of motorbikes or vehicles, and ask:

  • where to park your motorbikes or vehicles for the night;
  • whether you can clean a motorbike or do a small repair on site;
  • the state of the road to the guesthouse and of the tracks you are planning;
  • what time dinner is served, if you are arriving late.

Good to know

  • Fill up before you leave the main road.
  • From Marrakech, the N9 crosses the Tizi n'Tichka pass: in winter, snow can close it for a while.
  • The first time, it is best to arrive in daylight.
